Lake Toba, the second largest lake in the world situated in Sumatra island, Indonesia, has a main issue: its pollution caused by deforestation. The aim of our project is to expose solutions to make it become a top global sustainable tourism destination. We first have to stop deforestation and then attract international tourism. In order to pick up primary data we used a survey. The target were respectively foreigners whom could be interested in a sustainable tourism in Lake Toba. After collecting 100 answers we have deducted that there is a potential tourism activity, which is our first challenge. For example, 75% of respondents are interested in coming to Lake Toba for vacation. Furthermore, they would like to have activities mostly related in cultural practices and sporting. To suit their demands, we also need the involvement of local people. As our second challenge, we will have to tackle the PT Toba Pulp Lestari firm which practices devastating deforestation and our main problem is that they employ local people thus we will have to find new jobs to this population. During the process that will occur over a span of fifteen years we will create sustainable and economical employment.
