Service Transformation in Education Team Members (from left to right): Lim Ja Yee, Nguyen Thi Thu Thao, Felicia Putri, Gan Mei Ying & Jessica

This paper reviewed the development of education in the globalized world, in order to find the most suitable approach in service form that seeks to distribute knowledge to students effectively and efficiently. Along with the invention of technology, education had seemed to be transforming from high contact service to low contact service, which does not require to have active contact between institutional providers and students. Online education was enlarged and predicted to be consumed by large numbers of students around the world due to its benefits of convenient and the expansion of Internet, emails and global network. However, it was not clearly stated that the education’s transition in service approach was possible and desirable in term of students’ perspective. Therefore, this paper seeks to answer this question by firstly reviewing some literature journal which can prove that the transformation is possible. Secondly, it is to conduct a survey of students in a university to observe their preference between learning in class and by online platform. It is hoped this study will inform education’s provider the appropriate approach to be developed in the future to fulfill the needs of students.
