Likewise, the Southeast Asia tourism industry has seen a substantial growth in recent years and there is a demand of hostels expanding among the budget travellers and special groups. Luxury hostel is a form of budget accommodation of shared facilities which is gaining popularity amongst tourists. These tourists value low cost accommodation with convenient locations and offers of various personalized services. Furthermore, the healthy growth of the Malaysian tourism trade has encouraged the private sector to invest more in tourism-related infrastructures and services and hence inspire the hostel investors. This report is to examine the possibility and developing strategies for a new luxury hostel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A SWOT analysis was derived to judge the feasibility of building a luxury hostel. To facilitate this investment, an online survey and JCU students are roped in to respond questionnaires pertaining to hostel amenities. The outcome of the survey findings depicted consumers' needs are wifi, air condition, hot shower, hair dryer and shower essentials, and hostel choice factors are convenience, unique experience and financial reasons.
